Why do certain wines taste as they do? Well, it’s all down to their blend and here’s a sneaky peek of the recent blend undertaken at Château de Beauregard for the 2018 sparkling wines - Saumur Brut, Saumur Rosé and 100% Chenin sparkly.
Gérald was joined by two others for the blend-tasting, a variety of juices from the chenin blanc, chardonnay and cabernet franc were blended with the final decision on a dry 'n' crispy wine being taken by Gérald. In May the bottles will be fitted with aluminum caps ready for their second fermentation, during this time the bottles will rest in the château troglo caves for a minimum of 9 months before the dégorgement.
