April is days away and a very busy month lies ahead in the chai and vines!
In the chai, the last blend from the different vats will occur, followed by some filtration and a few checks, for example, to keep an eye on the stability of the wine. Bottling will begin on 27th/28th April, with the red (fruity) and the white (light and fruity) wines, the more structured red wines, most of which are in oak barrels, will be bottled in June.
With the cutting and pruning of the vines finished, attention turned towards the soil at Château de Beauregard... 30 tonnes of young cattle manure has now been spread, superb natural nourishment! Next it's bending of the vines… busy, busy!
